Greetings Viking!

In February 2021, I combined my love of Valheim & my love of filmmaking (since 1998) and started making content for Valheim. After my close friends stopped playing, I decided to open a community Valheim gaming server in September 2021 with the Hearth & Home update. Having played tabletop role-playing games since 1984, I enjoy handcrafting content and events for my players along with the help of my admins.

MY GOAL: To create a friendly, non-toxic multiplayer community.

We strive to be inclusive of players of all genders, ethnicities, ages, backgrounds and abilities. We value diversity as it makes our wonderful community all the richer, and every LGBTQ+, neurodiverse, or disabled player has a space in our community.

APPROVED MODS

On my Vanilla servers, we allow some optional Client-Side quality of life mods and try to stay true to the vanilla experience.

SERVERS FAQ

  • There are a number of unique things about my gaming servers:

    HEALTHY COMMUNITY: Thanks to the application process described above, we are maintaining a friendly, non-toxic multi-player community of engaged and diverse players from around the world.

    GAMEMASTERING: Having played tabletop role-playing games since 1984, I enjoy handcrafting content and events for my players along with the help of my admins. My servers benefit from multiple weekly events and unique hand-built locations, bosses and prizes.

    WORKING WITH MODDERS: I’ve created close relationships with several modders for Valheim. As a server admin I’m able to test and give feedback to help develop mods for Valheim that have never been done before.

    COMMUNICATION WITH DEVELOPERS: I regularly communicate directly with several of the developers of Valheim, giving feedback, interviewing them and staying up to date with the latest news that I share with my community.

  • Patreon Viking VIP or higher is the suggested donation amount to play on Jiroc’s community servers. This is a perk for those who support his work on YouTube. If you can’t afford to support at this time but want to play with friendly, like-minded people, you can fill in the “financial hardship” portion of the application. We have several good players in this predicament. We don’t want friendly people to be excluded from our community because they can’t afford to support Jiroc’s work. Skål!

  • Usually it takes about a day or two. We try to get everyone through the approval process as quickly as possible but sometimes a delay happens. We appreciate your patience with us. Our moderators come from many different time zones and have varied real life work schedules.

  • Yes, some Mods are allowed. Here is a link to our current approved mod list.

  • Yes and No: Currently no mods are required for most of our servers. If one is required you'll find that info in the info channel for that server. For example, the NOMAP Playground server will require you to have mods installed to ensure that everyone is playing without their map.

  • Of course! We encourage people to stream, and to mention the name of the server (eg. Jiroc's Viking Playground) in the title/description and link to our Discord (discord.gg/jiroctheviking) for people who want to join in on the fun.

  • Right click “Jiroc’s Viking Playground” in the upper left corner of Discord and choose “Edit Server Profile”. Then enter your Nickname.
